Ok now this really IS an image heavy update. So be warned.
Wow guys. Ichicon. It was... intense. Warning, I'm writing this in my 40th hour of being awake. So I'm not sure how much details I'll actually go into, we'll see.
Ok. Lets start with Friday, the day where both the boys (David and Elik) had arrived, and I still had not finished my fuku. Panic? Yeah, nothing compared to the day after. Got up at like half past 6ish, because neither bows had been attached, or the waistroll. The pearls to round it are no-where to be found (still) and I couldn't even find the gloves. I have THREE pairs. In diff places. Found them right before I was leaving though, but not until I'd torn (literally) everything out of my wardrobe onto my floor and emptying all of my boxes on top of the mountain of clothes and crap. Eventually found the gloves in a bag UNDER our boiler in the house. Yeah, don't ask me how they got there. There were a few more faults with my fuku that I hadn't had time to sort out but lets just play a game of "spot the crap" and see if anyone notices. (No, don't really, don't call me out. )
Left Saturday morning, already a bit late. Couldn't find the place. Drove around and around and around. I knew it would be a tiny con but I was not prepared for it to be THIS tiny. It was very nice, made it feel very cosy. The café was full of girls in maid-outfits, they were adorable. I invested in getting an Ichicon mug for 50 kr (like 5 bucks?) because it came with unlimited refills of tea and coffee. Yes, it was worth it, so, so worth it. Plus it was prett cute. ^_^ What else? Oh right, there was a lobby full of (well, not full of but there was a few) stands selling mangas and naruto-crap and posters. There was an arts-and-crafts room, a game room, anime room, film room and a small auditorium, plus a few random rooms. There was a few fun games, i.e. jeopardy with otaku-questions, was fun to watch. Then there was the cosplay walk-on show, which I'd planned to enter (since Lauren had to cancel) because I was too much of a chicken to enter into the skit-show. The competition wasn't exactly fierce. But there was a very good Darth Maul, she was super-cool! I went on as Prince Demando, Myu-style! After half an hour break it was time for the cosplay-skit show and for some INSANE reason I decided to do a skit. Since there weren't very many of us they didn't mind us signing up late, so me and Elik went up and sang La Soldier! Just like that, totally unplanned. It was hilarious. I'd run upstairs and changed into my fuku (for like the eight time) and it was superfun. My singing isn't exactly great, but I'm gonna blame that on laughing my arse off and being silly. ^_^
In the evening there was a Lolita-fashion show with some great dresses! They were soooo kawaii! The board were nice enough to give me a short panel/spot/thingy right beforehand, so the room was packed with people! I was back in my Dem outfit cuz it cold in the evening and I was getting pretty sick of the guys staring at my ass. I mean, really? Could they atleast FAKE some sensitivity? There were some problems with the sleeping arrangments, we were meant to sleep in a house down the road, but there was something wrong with the keys. I was set on staying awake all night so I didn't care. I spent the night going between watching random animes, playing brawl/dancemoves, drinking a shitload of coffee and putting the tiny little beads you have in nursery on a platterthingy that you then iron. I don't know what they're called. I made a GIANT Sailor Moon. She actually came out pretty great, so I'm gonna glue to her to some cardboard and put her on my wall. Then at 5.45 we (me, the boys and peeps that we spent the weekend with) seated ourselves down to watch Battle Royale. Man I love that film. I didn't really get tired til about 8 in the morning, then while we watched Totorro (Tottotto? Torrorro? Something like that, it was very cute!) I dozed on and off on the sofa.
Then in the morning the ending ceremony was supposed to be at 15, but since people were so dead they changed it and put it at 13 instead. They had a little price-giving ceremony for the people who'd won the drawing competition, AMV competition, cosplay walk-on, cosplay sketch, jeopardy and different game-tournaments that they held during the night.
I WON THE COSPLAY WALK-ON!!! *happy dance* Got a flower, anime DVD and a cute button.
Me and Elik got second place in the cosplay sketch! And the girl who won did a skit of Chi, with her being all... "Chi?". It was very cute!
Other than that I was happy to see quite a few cosplayers at the con, even if not all of them competed. I even saw a Sailor Moon! Her costume wasn't great, but I was just glad to see a Moon that didn't matter! Other than that there were plenty of Narutards, but I was expecting that. I was expecting people to want to take pics of my costume, since they came out pretty darn well, so I'd looked up hints and tips for cosplay-posing. And I have to say, normally I think it's so hard to pose in a photo, but with the costume on it really wasn't all that hard. I tried really hard to pose IN CHARACTER. It was so much fun!
Wow, I've been up for like 42 hours now. I need to try and find my bed under all the crap and then CRASH. Thank gawd I have the day off 2moz. <3 <3 <3
Here are the photos, in no particular order because I'm tired of this now. I'll try to have vids up at some point. Because I'm guessing you're a teensy bit curious about MY costumes, not random peoples, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this.
Update with pics will come once it's loaded, and films are to follow 2moz. I'm DYING now.
